Professor Charles Séguin appointed to the Advisory Committee on Climate Change

ESG UQAM Economics Department professor Charles Séguin will sit on the Quebec government's Advisory Committee on Climate Change. He is one of four new committee members appointed by Benoit Charrette, Minister of the Environment, Climate Change, Wildlife and Parks (B.A. History, 2000).

A member of the Institut des sciences de l'environnement de l'UQAM, the Centre interdisciplinaire de recherche en opérationnalisation du développement durable (CIRODD) and the Atelier d'économie de l'environnement et des ressources naturelles de Montréal, Charles Séguin is interested in environmental and resource economics, particularly the cap-and-trade system. He holds a PhD in agricultural and natural resource economics from the University of California at Berkeley.

Graduate Alain Bourque (M.Sc. Atmospheric Sciences, 1998), General Manager of Ouranos, the Quebec consortium on regional climatology and adaptation to climate change, is also a member of the Advisory Committee on Climate Change.
