The Chaire de recherche en macroéconomie et prévisions holds its first public conference

The Chaire de recherche en macroéconomie et prévisions, whose co-holders are ESG UQAM Department of Economics professors Dalibor Stevanovic and Alain Guay, held its first public conference, entitled "Perspectives macroéconomiques". Organized in collaboration with the Centre interuniversitaire de recherche en analyse des organisations (CIRANO), the Association des économistes québécois (ASDEQ), CFA Montréal and the Centre interuniversitaire de recherche en économie quantitative (CIREQ), the conference took place on October 2 in the presence of Finance Minister Éric Girard (M.Sc. Economics, 1993).

Rector Stéphane Pallage gave the opening address, then Professors Dalibor Stevanovic and Alain Guay presented the orientations and work of the Chair. Moderated by Nathalie de Marcellis-Warin, Professor at Polytechnique Montréal, the conference featured Paul Beaudry, Professor at the University of British Columbia and former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Canada, Jean Boivin, Director at the BlackRock Investment Institute, Marc Giannoni, Chief U.S. Economist at Barclays, Sylvain Leduc, Executive Vice President and Director of Research at the San Francisco Federal Reserve, and Minister Éric Girard.
